(NASB) Luke 2:16-18 “So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger.
17 When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child.
18 And all who heard it wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds.”

What is one of the first things the shepherds did after seeing the baby lying in a manger, a feeding trough for animals?
“…they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child.”
They gave out the message the angels had given them.
(See Luke 2:10-11)
The Good News!  The news of great joy for all the people!  Today!  In the city ofDavid, a baby born for you!  A Savior Who is Christ the Lord!

The message…it was all about the message which the angel had told them.
I believe it must have been an amazing experience for the shepherds.  The heavenly host filled the night with song.  The light of God’s glory surrounded them in the velvety blackness of night.  They heard and believed the message, and when they found the baby lying in a manger the message was verified.

(NASB) Luke 2:11-12 “For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
12 ‘This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’

All of this would have been told – but central to all their ‘experience’ was the message, the statement which affects every man, woman and child!

How would you tell what you had seen and heard if you had been out guarding those sheep that night?
What truth will you share about God from this true account of the shepherds?

The Statement Which the Shepherds Told is true.  It is all about God and His sending His only begotten Son to be your Savior.
