The angels had come and had told shepherds keeping guard over their flocks that night, the good news…a Savior had been born in the city of David (Bethlehem)!

(NASB) Luke 2:15 “When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, ‘Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.’”

The shepherds believed the angels’ message was from God.  They believed that God would not lie and they determined to ‘go’…‘and see’ immediately.

Do you do that?  Do you determine to ‘go’…‘and see’ for yourself what God is talking about in His word?  Belief in God is to ‘go’ ‘and see’ for yourself.  To see for yourself His truths which are as true today as the first time they were uttered and/or written.
What does God “tell” us each time we read His word?  This writer believes He “tells” us His truths…for God is God and He does not lie…in fact He cannot lie.

So when I read His words, I need to read all of His words…even the ones that make me uncomfortable and don’t fit into my preconceived thoughts about God.

God only tells you the truth.  He will never deceive you nor mislead you.

Our need is to read all of His truths for He reveals His full character to us through Jesus Christ.  And there are some facets of His character which people do not want to believe.  Such as God is love…truth!  God is our Judge…truth!  He will judge us for the words we speak and the things we do or do not do.

Because God is our Judge, in His mercy, grace and love, He walked among us (Immanuel ~ God with us) and has become our Savior.  Have you received Him as your Savior?  Who do you know who needs Jesus?

“Go”…“and see” Who God really is, according to His words and the Lord Jesus Christ Who came to reveal God to us.
