Night shifts are not enjoyable for many people…it interferes with the rhythm of life.  On the other hand, night shifts are perfect for others.  If you have night shifts, do you step outside on your break and consider God’s handiwork in the star studded sky?

The shepherds of long ago on theBethlehem hills were on night duty.  Did they look up at the night sky and were they filled with wonder?
(NASB) Luke 2:8 “In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night.”

Picture the night sky…as if you were out on a hillside looking up into the velvety blackness of the heavens.  There are brilliant pinpricks of myriad numbers of stars reaching from horizon to horizon in a 360 degree circle.  It is awe-inspiring.

If and when you are awake in the early morning hours and away from bright city lights, do you ever step outside and look up?  The Creator God has placed each star in its place in the heavens.

How do you respond to such a time of quiet and beauty?
(NASB) Psalm 8:1-2 “O LORD, our Lord,
How majestic is Your name in all the earth,
Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!

When you look at the world which God has created, are you in awe?
When you consider the power of God to create such amazing things, plants and animals, birds and fish of the seas, do you consider the wonder of God taking thought for you?

(NASB) Psalm 8:3-4 “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;
4 What is man that You take thought of him,
And the son of man that You care for him?”

Praise and honor and glory belong to God the Creator, is He your God?

There is beauty in the night watches…“O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth”!
