(NASB) Luke 1:80 “And the child (John the Baptist) continued to grow and to become strong in spirit, and he lived in the desert until the day of his public appearance to Israel.”

No more is heard of John as a baby, a toddler, teen-ager or even as a young adult.
He is not heard of until he is seen on the banks of the Jordan River, preaching.
John’s miraculous birth (born to an older couple)
John promised by God to Zacharias his father
Zacharias’ prophecy concerning John’s ministry at the time of his circumcision
Then – nothing – no word of John is in Scripture until he bursts upon the national scene in about thirty years.

John was unknown by many people but that did not mean God wasn’t continuing to work in him for His purpose and in His timing.  The same can be said about the followers of Christ.

John was prepared for his ministry throughout his life – first by his godly parents, then probably teachers in the desert and always by God.
The LORD God uses events, people and circumstances to prepare you for His purposes and in His perfect timing.

It is important for you and me to listen to God in the quietness of prayer and reading His words from the Holy Bible.  It is there that He prepares His people for life.

The hidden life of preparation is just that – hidden – unsung preparation, unknown preparation to any but to you and God.

Pastors and congregations, government leaders and citizens, husbands and wives, parents and children, “bosses” and employees – all of us need to be prepared in the hidden times of quiet with God.

The most important part of anyone’s work is their relationship with the living God.  How is your relationship with God the Father through God the Son and guided by God the Holy Spirit today?

It is time spent with the Lord where we will be strengthened in spirit.

Living by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ –

is to be prepared by Him in the hidden moments of life.
