(NASB) Luke 1:76 “And you, child, will be called the prophet of the most High;”

Zacharias was given God’s words concerning his newborn son, John.  The Holy Spirit filled Zacharias with His thoughts…and they had come spilling out of his heart and mind.  How wondrous to think that this child would be called the prophet of the Most High…blessing upon blessing.

Today, all who come and yield to the Lord Jesus (receiving Him as Savior and Lord) are also chosen by the Most High God.  It is then that followers of Christ are set apart to worship and serve Him.

Consider the following Scripture and the lavish blessings it points out:
(NIV) Ephesians 1:3-8 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.  4For he (Father) chose us in him (Christ) before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.  In love 5he (God the Father) predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – 6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he (Father) loves.  7In him (Christ) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.”

God’s Lavish Blessings are for you – this day!

Have you been blessed with God’s lavish blessings which are through the Lord Jesus?

Every spiritual blessing is in Christ:
*Chosen in Christ Jesus to be set apart and blameless – before the creation of the world

*God planned to adopt you and me as His children through Jesus Christ

*This plan was according to His pleasure and will

*God’s glorious grace has been freely given in Christ, the One the Father loves

*In Christ – redeemed through His blood (He died sacrificially in your place and mine)

*In Christ – forgiveness of sins (God the Father accepted His sacrifice in our behalf)

*Christ’s sacrificial love is “self-giving love” (“self-giving love, a love that comes from the heart of God that transforms and saves by its presence in the human experience.”  Pastor Jim McWhinnie)

*God’s grace – unearned, unmerited by all people (freely given and dependant upon you accepting what Christ has done for you)

*God’s wisdom and understanding has been lavished on all who believe in Jesus Christ – (what He has done on the cross and through His resurrection – you are that important to God.)

God’s Lavish Blessings ~

Yours’ by receiving Christ as Savior & Lord.
