Mary was a virgin and her Magnificat is a hymn of magnifying the LORD.  (See Luke 1:46-55)

In Monday’s devotional we considered the first half of this Magnificat…today we will consider the second.
(NIV) Luke 1:50-55 “His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.
51He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
52He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.
53He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.
54He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful
55to Abraham and his descendants forever, even as he said to our fathers.”

Look at the list of what God has done:

*He has given mercy to generation after generation of those who fear Him – have you received His mercy?

*He has done mighty deeds with His arm – not your arms, His arm.

*God has scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their heart – hidden pride is not hidden to God

*He has brought down rulers from their thrones – no one is more powerful than God

*God has exalted, He has lifted up those who are yielded to Him – true humility is to believe and acknowledge God as Master, have you?

*He has filled those who are hungry with good things – God doesn’t give out junk food

*God has sent away those who think they are rich – they leave His presence without any gifts from Him

*He has given His help to Israel – He remembers He gives them mercy

*God speaks today as He spoke to our fathers – He uses His word the Holy Bible

*He knows that Abraham’s descendants are all those who believe Him and know that His words are truth – all pointing to the Lord Jesus Christ

Look at What God Has Done! for you!

You also can give God the glory, declaring His magnificence, just as Mary did so many years ago.
