(NASB) Psalm 139:1-3 “O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.”

Mary was a virgin, doing her everyday duties in Nazareth.  Then the angel Gabriel was there before her, speaking to her, calling her by name.
(NASB) Luke 1:30 “The angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God.”

Mary was important to God.  He knew Mary.
Your name is important.  You are important to God.

Knowing and speaking a person’s first name is one of knowing that person on an intimate level.
God knows your name, your personality and character.  He knew Mary and she had found favor with Him.  Mary must have been a Godly young person.

Have you yielded to the living God and have you found favor in His sight?  You can by asking Jesus to be your Savior.  You can by agreeing with God and His word that you need Jesus’ death and resurrection in your life.  “Repent” was the cry of Jesus when He preached in Judea and Galilee about thirty years later.  Even though you are a Christian, when was the last time you asked God’s forgiveness?

You can find favor with God; you can be acceptable to God – by yielding to Him.  Mary’s faith was in the living God.  Is your faith in the living God of the Bible?  He is the same God Who sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth with a wondrous message of Messiah.

The LORD God knew Mary and Mary knew God, do you know Him?

All of us need to go to the God of the Holy Bible and agree with His true word.  Perhaps Mary had prayed these words from the Psalms at some point in her life:
(NASB) Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.”

God knows you, how well do you know God?  To know God is to read His words to you.
