(NASB) Genesis 12:1 “NOW THE LORD said to Abram,
‘Go forth from your country,
And from your relatives
And from your father’s house,
To the land which I will show you;”

Have you ever done that?  Have you left the land of your birth, your family and have gone to a place the LORD has in mind for you?

Perhaps your spouse’s job has taken you from those you love.
Perhaps retirement is in a place you do not particularly like.  Maybe your parents have made a decision and you had no say in it.  And you DO NOT like it.

Abram had a wife, nothing is said about if she had any input in Abram’s decision to go where the LORD led him.  Life is not always fair in our choice of where we live…
Abram knew that the LORD was Sovereign…and friends, He is still Sovereign today.

The LORD called Abram from his comfort zone, from the land of his birth, from his family.  [His father Terah was a worshiper of idols…Joshua 24:2.]

When God calls us, many times He takes us from what would not honor Him and takes us to grow in our faith in  Him…alone.
From what is the LORD calling you?

The LORD called Abram to a destination which the LORD chose…to the land which the LORD would show Abram.  Abram went by faith…in the living LORD God…

(NASB) Hebrews 11:8 “By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he when out, not knowing where he was going.”

Go forth…from…to…

  Where is the LORD calling you to ‘Go forth’?

“From” where or “from” what does the LORD want you to travel?
“To” where or “to” what does the LORD want you to go?

Perhaps you need to agree with God with a thankful attitude…or to accept His will for you…or to choose joy in following your Savior…

  Abram went forth from…to… by faith in the living LORD.

We are to go forth…from…to…by faith in the living LORD.
