Walking
Many counselors sound reasonable and realistic.  But without faith in God, counselors and their counsel are not blessed by the living God.
Godly counselors have faith in Him, having confidence in His words and putting His words into action in their lives…walking with God.

(NIV) Psalm 1:1 “BLESSED IS the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked…”
The people to whom we go for counsel, are they followers of Christ?  Are they people who pray and seek God’s guidance?  Are they seeking the God of the Holy Bible?

Standing
Choosing godly friends is important for you.  Friends will want your best for you and not try to lead you to do those things which cause harm to you or others…with whom are you standing?

(NASB) Psalm 1:1 “BLESSED IS the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners…”

Sitting
Spending time with people who know the living God of the Holy Bible and believe in His inerrant, infallible word…will be a blessing to you.
Those who mock and scoff at God and His word…are to be prayed for and given forgiving love…but that does not mean you make them your counselors and ‘best friends’.
With whom do you ‘sit’?

(NASB) Psalm 1:1 “BLESSED IS the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!”

With whom are you walking?
With whom do you stand?
With whom are you sitting?
