In Genesis 6:9 Scripture tells us that Noah walked with God.  Noah loved the LORD and expressed his love through obedience to God’s instructions to build the ark.  When Noah, his family and all the animals were given the ‘go ahead’ signal to leave the ark after the flood waters had abated and the ground had become dry…the first action recorded?  Noah built an altar to the LORD.  He expressed his love for the LORD by giving Him sacrificial burnt offerings and this pleased the LORD.  (See Genesis 8:20-21)

Sacrifices are an offering to the LORD…sacrifices which pleased the Him are found in Leviticus.

In the Old Testament the LORD used animal sacrifices to be a ‘picture’ of the sacrifice of God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  At Easter, followers of Christ celebrate His resurrection from death…for He offered His body, His life, as a living sacrifice on the altar of the cross.

The Lord Jesus Christ…offered Himself…in your place… He was your substitute…taking the punishment for your sins…and He was accepted by God the Father…for He was resurrected from the grave.  He gave His life so you may have life.  Have you received this greatest sacrificial gift?  To receive a gift, the recipient must take the gift so that it becomes theirs.  To receive this gift…you must ask Jesus to be your Savior…for He has already died and His sacrifice in your place has been accepted by God.

My friend…the gift is yours…

receive the Lord Jesus by asking Him into your life.

(NASB) Romans 10:8-11 “But what does it say?  ‘THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, in your mouth and in your heart’ – that is, the word of faith which we are preaching.
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, ‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.’ ”

If you are a follower of Christ…are you worshiping Him with a grateful heart?
