The rains stopped, then the flood waters began to abate and the earth began to dry out.  Noah waited…and waited…then one day he opened the window and sent out a raven…it flew back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth.  Then Noah sent out a dove…but the dove returned to the ark, it could not find a dry enough place to land…again, Noah waited…he waited seven days and sent the dove out again…this time it returned but – it had an olive leaf in its beak.  Noah waited another seven days and sent the dove out again…this time it did not return.

Noah used realistic caution and waited wisely for God’s perfect timing and His ‘go ahead’ signal.   What decision are you facing today?  With that decision are you using realistic caution and discretion?  Are you wisely waiting on God and His ‘go ahead’ signal or are you barging ahead without thought of the consequences?  Who is in charge of your life?  Are you?  Or, is God?

When the earth was completely dry:
(NASB) Genesis 8:15-17 “Then God spoke to Noah, saying,
16 ‘Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.
17 ‘Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.’ ”

Noah had waited and then God spoke and said ‘Go’!

God is our hope and in Him we are to trust.

Don’t we need to realistically wait on God for His ‘Go’ in our lives?
