Noah and his family, along with the animals and birds, had been shut into the ark by the LORD God.
(NASB) Genesis 7:17-18 “Then the flood came upon the earth for forty days, and the water increased and lifted up the ark, so that it rose above the earth.
18 The water prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.”

Noah had been instructed by God to seal the ark inside and out with pitch.  (See Genesis 6:14)  When the floods came, the ark had been well sealed in the building stage…what if Noah had been negligent and had done a sloppy job?  That ark would not have withstood the flood waters…Noah, his family and the animals would have died.

What you do today and how well you do it today will be evidenced later.

What you do today in obedience to God’s instructions in the Holy Bible will impact your life and the lives of others tomorrow, next week, next year.

Your work today is of great importance in the future,

not only for yourself but also for others.

Jesus told a parable of three servants.  A master gave each of the men money to use while he went on a trip.  To one servant he gave a large amount of money, to the second a greatly reduced amount of money and to a third the smallest amount of money.  Each of the servants were responsible to their master for that money.  The first two servants doubled their money, while the third hid his portion in a hole in the ground.
The master returned and asked for an accounting…the first two servants were commended while the third was sharply reprimanded.  What those servants did at the outset impacted their master and themselves.  (See Matthew 25:14-30)

Followers of Christ, what will your Master (the Lord Jesus Christ) say to you?

Will you be sharply reprimanded for doing nothing or a poor job of following His instructions?

                                                      OR

Will you be commended with, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”?

The work you do today is of great importance.
