Genesis 6:14 is a summary of what God wanted Noah to make along with a warning, a promise and how God would help Noah.

(NASB) Genesis 6:14 “Make for yourself (Noah) an ark of gopher (cypress) wood; you shall make the ark with rooms, and shall cover it inside and out with pitch.”

Then God gave His plans to Noah…architectural plans: length, width, height, ventilation window and the entry/exit door along with the interior having three floors.  (See Genesis 6:15-16)

God’s plans were specific…God’s word does that for you also, specific ways you are to live to please Him…specific plans which go through the Lord Jesus Christ.

What was the reason for the need of an ark?  God warned Noah:
(NASB) Genesis 6:17 “Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish.”

God gives you and me warnings of what He will be doing…those warnings are found in Daniel, Thessalonians, Matthew, Revelation and other parts of Scripture.  God’s timetable will happen…all the prognostications, predictions, perplexing alignment of the galaxy on December 21, 2012 are not to be feared.  God is!

Jesus said in Matthew 24:36-39 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
37 For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.
38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

God commanded Noah…and so he did.  Noah took God’s warning to heart…he believed God.  Noah may not have had any concept of what a flood would do…there had never been any rain on the earth up to this time.  The earth had been watered by a mist.
(See Genesis 2:5-6)

God’s word is eternal.  God’s word is true.  (See Psalm 119: 89, 151, 152)

God commanded…so Noah did…

God commands…what can be said about you?
