(NASB) Genesis 6:5-6 “Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.”

What is happening across the globe?  People are voting for abortion, families are being destroyed, power to special interest groups, false religions being tolerated and the list goes on…people’s thoughts are “only evil continually.”  When God and His word is unimportant to people, then what He has to say is ignored.

Your thoughts and mine are important to God.  Do your thoughts; do your motives give the God of the Holy Bible grief?
The thoughts of people in the days of Noah grieved God in His heart.  It would seem that people did not ask God what He desired for them…they did not worship God, their Creator, do you?

God knows your thoughts…for He is God.
(NASB) Psalm 94:11 “The LORD knows the thoughts of man…”

(NASB) Isaiah 55:8 “ ‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,’ declares the LORD.”

What are the evil thoughts of which God warns us, grieving Him?
(NASB) Matthew 15:19-20 “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.
20 ‘These are the things which defile a man…”

What does God say about our evil thoughts?
We are to seek the LORD while He may be found.  Why are we to call upon Him while He is near?  Because our thoughts, the hidden places in the recesses of our minds, are to be brought into line with His thoughts.  Our thoughts, without God, are unrighteous and our actions are in opposition to God’s thoughts.  God’s word counsels us to turn to Him because He is compassionate and will forgive us and abundantly pardon.                       (See Isaiah 55:6-7)

What are we to do so we won’t grieve the heart of God?

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 10:5b “…and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”
