As Christmas is ‘just around the corner’, how are you planning on celebrating Christ Jesus’ birth?  What is the focal point of your celebration plans?  Is it gifts, a meal, family, friends, a church service?  The birth of Jesus has many ramifications, one being why Jesus was born

Jesus was born in Bethlehem, lived in Israel, died in Jerusalem – on a cross for you.

The reason for Christ’s birth was for you to be redeemed from your sins before the Holy God of the Bible.
(NASB) Galatians 3:13 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us – for it is written, ‘CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE’ ”

Jesus’ birth gives followers of Christ hope of life after dying…even Job in the Old Testament had hope, a living hope in his living Redeemer…and so do you, if your faith is in Jesus Christ.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem, lived in Israel, died in Jerusalem –

on a cross for you.

(NASB) Job 19:25-27 “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
26 Even after my skin is destroyed,
Yet from my flesh I shall see God;
27 Whom I myself shall behold,
And whom my eyes will see and not another…”

In the carol “O Little Town of Bethlehem” a portion of the fourth verse:

“Cast out our sin, and enter in, be born in us today”

The followers of Christ have a living Redeemer!

Our hope is in Him the unchanging God.

The world’s hope is based on man’s abilities not on the LORD God’s.

Upon what or Whom is your focus this Christmas season?

Jesus is ~ Redeemer
