The birth of Jesus was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 and was fulfilled when He was born in Bethlehem of Judea.
(NIV) Matthew 1:23 “ ‘The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel’ – which means, ‘God with us’.”

I am filled with awe and wonder at the birth of Jesus.  Jesus was the Word Who became the Son of Man and lived among His people.
Only the great God would think of such a thing.  Only the great God did such a thing.

(NASB) John 1:1 “IN THE beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

(NASB) John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

As you prepare for Christmas, scurrying, hurrying, fretting (?), think again of Whose birth you are celebrating.

Shepherds were out in the fields, doing their job (it was the third shift, all night duty).
(NASB) Luke 2:9-14 “And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.
10 But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
12 ‘This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’
13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,’
14 ‘Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.’ ”

“O Come, O Come, Immanuel” Rejoice!Rejoice!

Jesus is…Immanuel (God with us).

  The followers of Christ have this Jesus, Immanuel, with them, do you?
