Self-giving Love
A family unit in the Holy Bible is made up of a husband, a wife and most of the time children. Each member of the family has responsibilities toward each other and for daily living. Adam and Eve’s first two children were boys who grew into manhood.
(NASB) Genesis 4:1-2 “NOW THE man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, ‘I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD.’
2 Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.”
Adam and Eve were married and they became “one flesh” Genesis 2:24.
Marriage is used as a ‘picture’ of Christ and the church (His followers).
Marriage has been ordained by God, how are you honoring God in your marriage?
What does God’s word say to wives?
(Amplified) Ephesians 5:22 “Wives, be subject (be submissive and adapt yourselves) to your own husbands as [a service] to the Lord.”
Wives, how do you yield and adapt yourself to your husband and his leadership?
Godly love is self-giving to your spouse.
What does God’s word say to husbands?
(Amplified) Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her”
