“Make Things Right”
The LORD God understands how people think…if Adam and Eve had stayed in the garden of Eden they may have wanted to “Make Things Right” by eating fruit from the tree of life…after they had eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
(If they had done that, they would have lived forever in their sin against God.)
They had tried to “Make Things Right” by sewing fig leaves together to hide their nakedness after they had sinned against the LORD God’s specific warning.
(See Genesis 2:16-17; 3:7)
(NASB) Genesis 3:22-23 “Then the LORD God said, ‘Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever’ –
23 therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.”
What do you do to “Make Things Right”?
The following list is only to trigger your thoughts:
Talk…to yourself?
Talk…to those you may have offended, asking their forgiveness?
Talk…to others to justify or explain away your words or actions?
Talk…to excuse yourself from any blame?
What does God’s word say to do to “Make Things Right”?
(NASB) Psalm 32:5-7 “I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I did not hide;
I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD’;
And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah
6 Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.
7 You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble;
You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.”
