What is very difficult to do in circumstances which are dire, discouraging, and even dangerous?  To give thanks to the living God, yet that is what He tells the followers of Christ to do.

As you read the following passage of Scripture…what is the promise which follows thanksgiving?
(NASB) Philippians 4:4-7 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men.  The Lord is near.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Where are you anxious?

How have you prayed?

Have you prayed with thanksgiving…

trusting in God and His loving mercy?

Prayers to God are for Him to decide how and when to answer…when you pray, are you trying to tell the Sovereign living God how and when to do it?  Or do you end your prayer…‘Your will be done’.

The Lord is near.  Reach out, trusting Him to answer your prayer.
