Adam and Eve had eaten the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  Both now knew what sin was, disobedience to God and His words of warning.  The man and woman were both guilty before the living God…yet each put the blame for their sinful choices on another, other than themselves.

Do you do that too?  Are you blaming others for your circumstances, your health, your up-bringing, your anger, etc.?

The LORD God asked some pointed questions of Adam:
(NASB) Genesis 3:11-13 “And He said, ‘Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?’
12 The man said, ‘The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate.’
13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, ‘What is this you have done?’  And the woman said, ‘The serpent deceived me, and I ate.’ ”

Adam had made a choice when Eve handed her husband the forbidden fruit, and he ate it.  Eve had made a choice when she reached out, took a piece of fruit from that tree and ate it.  She made a choice which was most attractive to her…she could have turned from that desire.  I believe the desire consumed her thinking…until she succumbed to the temptation.  [Remember: temptation is not sin.  Giving into the temptation is sin.]

Some people say ‘but if God really loved Adam and Eve He would not have let them sin’.  What is real love?  Godly love allows choices.
You and I are responsible before God for our choices, He will not permit us to blame others for our very real sins.
Adam and Eve made a choice to disobey God’s clear warning.

Choosing to not play the blame game but taking responsibility for your choices…you can do that at this moment.  No more blame game, no more self-pity, no more unbelief in God and His true words.
It is time to take responsibility for your own choices.  It is time to turn from ‘poor me’ and turn to God.

Adam and Eve played the blame game…and God held them responsible.

Are you playing the blame game?

God holds you responsible for your sins.

Have you come to a point where you say:

‘Thank You, LORD for your mercy, grace and forgiveness for my sins’?
