God’s work of creation was completed – everything was done.
(NASB) Genesis 2:1-3 “THUS THE heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts.
2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.”

God rested on the seventh day.
God blessed the seventh day.
God sanctified (made sacred) the seventh day.

When the Lord God gave Moses the Ten Commandments the fourth commandment is:
(NASB) Exodus 20:8 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

The Sabbath day is the seventh day of the week.  Most followers of Christ worship on Sunday, the first day of the week.  On this day, Christ Jesus was resurrected from the dead.
(Tomorrow’s devotional will consider this aspect.)

How do you “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”?
Perhaps you: Worship in a church setting.  Perhaps your day is quieter from the other six days of the week.

What could you do differently to “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”?
My list will be different from yours.

Don’t we need to put God’s commandment into practice?  To know that Sunday is really about remembering the LORD God?   To keep it set apart from the other days of the week?

God commanded:

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
