(NASB) Genesis 1:26-27 “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’
27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

God made all living creatures in water, on land and in the air; however, these creatures were not made in God’s image…only people were.
This does not make anyone perfect but it does reveal that God chose to create people in His image.

  Consider this truth:

You and I have been made…in the image of God.

You and I were created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (See Ephesians 4:20-24)  If we reject Jesus Christ as our Savior…we are rejecting God Who created us.

We were created to be in right standing with God (righteousness) and set apart for God Himself (holiness).  If you were to stand before God this moment…would you be in a right relationship with Him through His Son as your Savior?

Being created by God in His image makes everyone accountable to Him for their choices, thinking, motives, actions, attitude and relationships…sobering thought.

What you believe about God

does affect your life today and your eternity.
