The Desire to Please God
Disobedience to God is to experience His wrath. High sounding ideas and words draw people – but are those words empty promises and deceptive traps?
(NASB) Ephesians 5:6-10 “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
7 Therefore do not be partakers with them;
8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light
9 (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
10 trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.”
Followers of Christ…what do you need to turn from which is darkness and not light? Is it a mindset? Perhaps friends which do not know Christ? What habit needs to go? We are to walk as children of the Light Who is Jesus Christ.
The result of being a follower of Christ is to harvest the fruit of Light!
The fruit of having Christ within – it is His goodness.
The fruit of having Christ within – it is His righteousness.
The fruit of having Christ within – it is His truth on which we build.
The fruit of having Christ within – is to have the desire to please God by word, actions and attitude.
Followers of Christ have the desire to please God because:
(NASB) 1 John 1:7 “but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
How are you walking in the Light?
How are you living out the desire to please God?
