Genesis 1:2 “The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.”

God was present and said:
(NASB) Jeremiah 4:23 “I looked on the earth, and behold, it was formless and void;
And to the heavens, and they had no light.”

The Holy Spirit was present:
God the Holy Spirit was present.  “the Spirit of God was moving over the waters…”

Christ Jesus was present:
(NASB) Colossians 1:15-17 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things have been created through Him and for Him.
17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

We are to search the Scriptures for they speak God’s truths.
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are three Persons, YET One God…all the fullness of God was present at creation.
[In the Hebrew Scriptures, Genesis 1:1 states God’s name in the masculine plural “Elohim” (noun).  In Hebrew the verb “Elohim” is singular.  Therefore, Three Persons, yet One God.]

(NASB) Genesis 1:1-2 “In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.”

And the living God was there!  Seeing, moving, and involved!
