God’s Creative Power
(NASB) Genesis 1:1 “IN THE beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
There was a beginning and the beginning began with God creating.
No mention is made – at this point in the Scriptures – “how” God created.
The “how” is found in verse 3, “Then God said…” God said! God spoke “and there was…”!
(NASB) Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.”
The followers of Christ understand by faith that God’s word is truth. God created what can be seen, touched, tasted, heard, etc. He made everything out of things not visible to us. Impossible?! Not for the Creator God. (Compare Hebrews 11:3)
God’s creative power is hard to grasp! People find reasons to believe God does not have the power to create by speaking what is in His mind.
People are limited in perceptions because we are limited in what we can do…soooo, if science cannot find ways or theories to do…anything…then it must be impossible for God also. From a human perspective we cannot speak and create…anything.
God asked Job: (NASB) Job 38:4 “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding.”
After God has gone through a loooong list, Job answers:
(NASB) Job 40:4 “…Behold, I am insignificant; what can I reply to You?
I lay my hand on my mouth…”
Ponder God’s power to create…look around you…
