In sports, people want fairness for all the players, especially for “their” team.  They are incensed when they feel a wrong call has been made against “their” team.

The LORD understands our sense of fairness.  However, life is not always “fair”.
Living by God’s commands will not make life easier and God warns us of this.

(NASB) Psalm 37:12-15 “The wicked plots against the righteous
And gnashes at him with his teeth.
13 The Lord laughs at him,
For He sees his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow
To cast down the afflicted and the needy,
To slay those who are upright in conduct.
15 Their sword will enter their own heart,
And their bows will be broken.”

What do followers of Christ need to know?

1-     The wicked do plot against those in right standing with God.
2-   The wicked do gnash at them.
3-    The LORD laughs at the wicked because He knows what is coming.
4-   The wicked are “out to get”, to kill and destroy those* whose actions are upright.  [*Followers of Christ – never, ever give up doing what God says for you to do in following His Son.]
5-    The wicked’s weapons will boomerang and turn back on them.

For those of you who are suffering persecution because of your faith in Christ Jesus – continue to put your hope in the LORD and His power.  Do not give in to despair.  Peter and many believers have had your kind of trials…

(NASB) 1 Peter 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

Our hope (not despair) is in Christ Jesus the living Son of God.
