Commitment
God has committed Himself to the followers of Jesus Christ. He asks us to commit our way to Him, to trust Him
(NASB) Psalm 37:5-6 “Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it,
6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light
And your judgment as the noonday.”
You and I have a condition to meet before God: we are to commit our day to Him. How often do we start out with good intentions then quickly take our day into our own hands?
The burdens you have weighing you down today can be given to the living God of the Bible. Doesn’t that sound really good? Giving God your load is to trust Him to carry it. Leaning on God for support, relying on Him to be faithful to you and your needs can give you confidence to walk through your day.
Perhaps you are in a situation in which you feel ‘left out of the loop’ of being included in your office or home or neighborhood. Be encouraged! God promises you that when you commit your way to Him, He will make your uprightness (your right standing with Him) as light to be seen by others. The justice of your cause will be like the sun shining at noonday.
In order to be in right standing before God, recognize where you are – is there a sin you need to confess to Him?
After confessing and asking His forgiveness – know that you are forgiven, that He will execute justice for you in the hard places in your life.
My friend, commit your way, your day, to the LORD…
for He cares for you.
