(NASB) Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.”

What a promise!  God will give you the desires of your heart!  What do you desire?
To play a better game of tennis, golf, futball (soccer) or excel in another sport?

Perhaps you desire to live in another place from what you now do?
What about having a better job with better pay or a different house?

Perhaps your thoughts go to your children and grandchildren…for them to know the LORD and to walk closely with Him?
Do you desire for your nation to become a godly nation?

Is your health pleasing to you or do you desire better health?
What about having godly friends who are encouragers?
If you are near retirement age, have you considered having a productive life after retirement?

Now, go back to the verse and look a little closer…it is conditional!  “Delight yourself in the LORD”.
To delight in the LORD is to look at Him with joy, happiness and with a positive attitude because He is God.  He is worthy and gives believers security and a sense of well-being in Him, no matter what your situation.
Delighting yourself in God is to focus on Him and not on your health, co-workers, your abilities or disabilities, your family, your nation…whatever it is which causes you to fret, fume and fuss.

When you delight in the LORD,

the desires of your heart revolve around Him and His will.

Delight in the LORD is to think about Him!  Is He your Savior?  What a delight!
Is He your Shepherd and Guide?  Delight in Him!
To desire what God desires is truly a delight!
To desire what God desires for you is to be led by Him and delight in what He gives you…today.

To trust in the LORD is really a delight!

How are you delighting in Him today?
