The LORD God announced the coming of His Anointed One…Messiah, the Christ, with joy!

This Messiah was for the Jews and for all the nations…God is not excluding Gentiles, even in the Old Testament.

Not only did God announce His chosen Messiah, He described Him:
(NASB) Isaiah 61:10-11 “I will rejoice greatly in the LORD,
My soul will exult in my God;
For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with a garland,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth brings forth its sprouts,
And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise
To spring up before all the nations.”

Look carefully at the above verses.  Messiah is speaking…He “will rejoice greatly in the LORD”, His “soul will exult in my God”.
Again, consider the next phrases: they are in the past tense…“For He has clothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness”
(Underlining added)

As spring emerges from winter, as the seeds and pods peek and poke out of the warming earth to grow into their potential…so the LORD God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.
