Attribute of God ~ Deliverer

Deliverer: To be ‘delivered’ from something, we need a Deliverer.  Someone Who is stronger, further-seeing and present in our situation.
There are many examples of God’s deliverances throughout His word, beginning with Genesis 1:1 and ending with Revelation 22:21.

What is one example of an Old Testament Deliverance?
David had been delivered from his enemies including King Saul.  Saul had pursued David from wilderness town to wilderness caves and David repeatedly escaped.

After David was delivered from his enemies he gave God the credit, the glory and the praise by worshiping Him.
(NASB) 2 Samuel 22:2-4 “…‘The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
3 ‘My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge;
My savior, You save me from violence.
4 ‘I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised,
And I am saved from my enemies.”

The Deliverer is God Himself.
God is available to be your personal Deliverer.

What is one example of a New Testament Deliverance?
(NASB) Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

One way to think of the above verse: We are not to continue to be politically correct when it disagrees with God and His words.
We are to be transformed (delivered) by having our thoughts and mind renewed in the power of God and for His purpose.
We are to acknowledge God as our Deliverer.

To be delivered from anything, there must be a Deliverer.

And for the followers of Christ

our deliverance is dependent on Him being our Deliverer.
