How did the crowd respond to Jesus’ gesture of friendship to *Zaccheus when He said He must stay at his house that day?  (*Some translations spell it: Zacchaeus)
(See Monday through Thursday’s devotional for this event.)

(NASB) Luke 19:7 “When they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, ‘He has gone to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.’ ”

They grumbled…what is your response when a known sinner accepts Jesus as Savior and Lord?

How did Zaccheus respond to the crowd’s criticism?
(NASB) Luke 19:8 “Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, ‘Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much.’ ”

How did Jesus respond to the crowd and affirm Zaccheus’ new faith?
(NASB) Luke 19:9 “And Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham.’ ”

How did Jesus acknowledge Zaccheus’ faith?
(NASB) Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Jesus came to seek and save those who are lost and respond to Him.

Jesus recognized Zaccheus’ outward response as a sign of his inner response…his belief in Jesus.

Jesus will recognize your inner response of faith toward Him.
