Dictionary definition of gentle: 1. Considerate or kindly in disposition; amiable; patient.  2. Not harsh, severe, or violent; mild; soft

We are to be gentle – toward others…considerate, kindly, patient, not harsh, severe or violent; mild in our manner toward others (isn’t this how you would like to be treated?).

What has Jesus said?
(Amplified) Matthew 11:30 “For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good – not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant)…”

We are to use gentleness toward others, not harshness or being severe in our judgments or criticisms.  For the followers of Christ: our attitude, our motives, our method of operation is to include gentleness.

Since we are yoked with Jesus…we are to treat others as Jesus does us.

(NASB) Ephesians 4:1-3
“THEREFORE…walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called.
2 with all humility and gentleness with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love.
3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
