Being kind is to have tenderness toward others…kindness is an action.  As followers of Christ our actions should come from love for God and then to give love to others…

In Proverbs 31…there is quite a list of a virtuous woman…one out of that list is:
(NASB) Proverbs 31:26 “She opens her mouth in wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”

Now men, you are not exempt!  You also can open your mouth with wisdom and have the teaching of kindness on your tongue.  In fact the women in your life would appreciate it!

God tells us how to live in a way which pleases Him:
(NASB) Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God.”

Now women, you are not exempt either!  What is good for the men in your life is good also for you.

All of us are to do justly, to love being kind to others, and to submit to God’s way for you.

Kindness requires action.

(NASB) Acts 9:36 “Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did.”

“…deeds of kindness…” are to be continuous…doing acts of kindness will be sacrificial…think about the time and the interruption it will require…but “…deeds of kindness…” toward you required someone else’s sacrifice of time didn’t it?
When another does something special for you, how have you responded?

How will you pass on “deeds of kindness” to others this summer?
