Some women went through the pre-dawn streets of Jerusalem to a garden tomb on the first day of the week.  They had spices used to complete the burial of Jesus’ body.  Light from the early dawn was stealing across the sky and they could clearly see that the stone was rolled away from the entrance to the tomb.  They entered that tomb but there was no body of the Lord Jesus, there was nothing but linen wrappings used for burial.  Perplexed, they probably looked at each other and possibly in hushed tones asking ‘where is His body?’

Suddenly there are two men in dazzling white clothing standing near them.  They aren’t soldiers and they aren’t any of the disciples.  Terrified they bow their faces to the ground.

One of the men asks, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead? He is not here, but He has risen.  Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”  (See NASB Luke 24:1-7)
(NASB) Luke 24:8 “And they remembered His words.”

What do you and I need to remember?
1.      These women were not expecting an empty tomb.
2.    Jesus foretold His death and resurrection.
3.     God’s purposes and plans will never be stopped by anyone or by any circumstances.
4.    Jesus is resurrected physically…He is alive today (in heaven and He will come to earth again).

Remember…

Followers of Christ worship and follow a risen, living Savior.

How are you seeking Jesus?

As if He is dead?

As if He is only a Spirit?

He is the living One and He is not dead!

He has risen!
