(NASB) Luke 9:51 “When the days were approaching for His ascension, He was determined to go to Jerusalem”

But Jesus’ focus was also on His ultimate destination: heaven.  To get to heaven He would go through suffering, brutal and illegal trials, dying on the altar of the cross, and being buried in the tomb of death.  After His resurrection He remained with His disciples for a short time, then came His glorious ascension into heaven.

Jesus’ thoughts and plans were far above, and deeper in purpose, than what men and women think.

Where have you determined you will be going in the next week?  Where have you determined you will be going when you leave this life and enter eternity?  Only through Jesus Christ can anyone enter into God’s presence in eternity.

Jesus was determined to go to Jerusalem for you…

What are you doing with that steadfast and determined purpose for which Jesus suffered and died?

How are you responding to Jesus?

Who is Jesus to you?
