What does your faith in Jesus reveal about you?  Does your faith in Jesus make you ‘feel good’, give you ‘warm fuzzies’ without making you accountable for your beliefs, your actions and your words?

People’s perception of Jesus
During Jesus’ ministry He asked His disciples a question, “Who do people say that I am?” (See Luke 9:18)
Their answers were varied: “John the Baptist”, “Elijah”, “one of the prophets of long ago”.  (See Luke 9:19)

Who do you say Jesus is to you?

Peter’s personal knowledge of Jesus
Then Jesus asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” (See Luke 9:20)
And Peter answered: “The Christ of God.”  (See Luke 9:20)

Peter’s knowledge came from being with Jesus on a daily basis and from the Holy Spirit of God.  Isn’t this how your knowledge of others grows, by spending time with them?

To grow in our knowledge of Who Jesus really is…not the plasticized, fictionalized, or watered down characterization that is prevalent today; we need to read God’s word for ourselves.  Aren’t we to ask God to show us what He means as we read and study His word?

What is your personal knowledge of Jesus?

Prophecy of Jesus’ suffering, rejection, death and resurrection
(NASB) Luke 9:22 “…The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised up on the third day.”

Here is Scriptural proof that Jesus was not killed for political reasons (Messiah was sent by God to fulfill His purpose and plan for sins to be forgiven. Prophecy fulfilled!).
Proof also that Jesus would die and rise in victory from the grave of death.

How does your life reflect your belief about Jesus’ death and resurrection?
