Long before Jesus Christ was born of a virgin it was foretold that He would have deep anguish of His mind, His emotions and His will.

(NASB) Isaiah 53:11a “As a result of the anguish of His soul…”

Jesus Christ went to the Garden of Olives on the night when He would be betrayed and there prayed…alone…while His disciples slept.
On the third time of prayer Luke records: (NIV) Luke 22:44 “And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.”
Jesus prayed in agony and with great intensity. All of His being was involved, His mind, His emotions and His will.
He acknowledged – and accepted – God’s will for Him…to die on the cross, taking on sins which He never committed, as well as the sins of omission of which He never was guilty.

(NASB) Hebrews 5:7-8 “In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.
8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.”

Jesus submitted to His Father’s will…for you. Have you accepted this great act of love on your behalf, asking Jesus to be your Savior? Is He your source of eternal salvation? If not, there is no other.

Have you paused and thanked your Savior for His sacrifice on your behalf recently?
