(NASB) 2 Corinthians 5:18-21
18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,
19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

Ambassador: Any authorized messenger or representative.
Followers of Christ are ambassadors with an important message “be reconciled to God.”
Because followers of Christ have so great a salvation – we are ambassadors.
Because followers of Christ have so great a salvation – God is making an appeal through us.
Because followers of Christ have so great a salvation – we beg on behalf of Christ, that others be reconciled to God.

That word, reconcile or reconciliation, what does it mean?
One definition in the dictionary: “To make compatible or consistent.”

God will not make Himself compatible with us (we are finite and we are sinners).
However, the great Good News is that God has made us compatible with Him!  And He has done it through His Son, the Lord Jesus.

Good News!

“God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself”!
