What does following Christ mean to you?  There are many ways that question could be answered…the following is one way…

I am ‘in Christ’ and because of this fact I am a new creature.  The ‘old ways’ are to be gone…the ‘old ways’ of reacting to others, the ‘old ways’ of indulging sinful thoughts, acts and words – these are to be of the past.

The ‘new things’ have come to replace the ‘old ways’.
A changed life will result from time spent with God, the living God, who loves you and who forgives you (confession of sin is a must).

Think about this: followers of Christ have been freed by faith in Christ from old habits, old reactions and old ways of looking at others.

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

As 2010 has been replaced by 2011, are you still living as if you were in 2010?  Probably not…the New Year has come.  So it is with all who are followers of Christ.
The old ‘self’ [the previous moral and spiritual condition] has been replaced with the Lord Jesus, His Spirit in you…
