Questions which need to be carefully thought about, pondered:
1- Why are we who have died to sin still living in specific sin?
2- How are my actions revealing my thought life?
3- What words and tone of voice am I using which show I still need to be changed from the old ways of sin?
4- Why am I still living in the sins of my life before I became a follower of Christ by faith in Him?
5- Followers of Christ, do you not know that you have been freed from the old ways of living by the death and resurrection of the One in Whom you believe?

(NASB) Romans 6:1-7
1 “WHAT SHALL we say then?  Are we to continue to sin so that grace may increase?
2 May it never be!  How shall we who died to sin still live in it?
3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
7 for he who has died is freed from sin.”

When I ask another ‘how am I doing’, and am given a critical response, it is difficult to ‘hear’.  First, I need to give myself time to think about it, to ‘process’ the information on an objective level, and be honest with myself.

If I am serious about changing to please God, I need to ‘hear’ what God says.  He uses His word in the Holy Bible and He uses others to reveal what needs changing in my life.

Being serious about living “in the newness of life” is to be honest!

Still living in your old ways?

Or are you walking in the newness of life?

He who has died to the old ways of living

is freed from sin by faith in Jesus Christ!
