Why? Why are you angry, contentious, critical, negative about many things, etc., etc., etc.

As followers of Christ we are to search for the eternal treasures which are above, where Christ Jesus is actually seated at the right hand of God. (See Colossians 3:1)
As followers of Christ we are commanded to “Set your minds on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” (See NASB Colossians 3:2)

Now comes the ‘why’ ~ the wonderful ‘why’!
(NASB) Colossians 3:3 “For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
(Amplified) Colossians 3:3 “For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.”

Think about this: “your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Nothing can take you out of His hands.

Jesus said,
27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” (See NASB John 10:27-29)

For what better reason should we ‘Set our minds on things above’ than this truth?

“Set your minds on things above, not on the things that are on earth.”

No one is able to snatch the followers of Christ out of His Hand
or the Father’s hand.
