Jesus said He came to fulfill the Law and to fulfill the prophecies – all the prophecies which came through the prophets:
(NASB) Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.  18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.”

Prophecy of promised hope of Immanuel (God with us):
(NASB) Micah 5:2 “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Too little to be among the clans of Judah,
From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.
His goings forth are from long ago,
From the days of eternity.”

Bethlehem – the place where Messiah would be born, the ultimate King.
Bethlehem – not Jerusalem where kings of Israel were born and ruled.

Prophecy fulfilled:
(NIV) Luke 2:4-7 “So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.  5He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Isn’t that just like the God of the Bible?  Using people and places which are not considered worth much in the eyes of the world for His purposes.

Your worth is great in the eyes of God.

No matter your station or status in life.

God’s promises are of great worth…and they are for you.

Jesus came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets.  The prophet Micah told about His birth in Bethlehem.  And that He will come to be Ruler from Jerusalem (which is still future to us).
Micah told about how God the Son would step down from heaven and become the Son of Man so you and I could have access to God the Father through Him…Immanuel (God with us).

Consider this: Immanuel…“God with us”
