What are followers of Christ not to do?
(NASB) Psalm 1:1 “HOW BLESSED is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!”

Notice the progression in which sin entangles us:
First we walk…seeking ungodly counsel
Second we stand…going where those who sin against God are; allowing their thoughts and ways to drop into our minds
Third we sit…where those who scoff at God and His words are seated, and we join those who scoff at God

So, if you are seated with those who scoff against God…stand up and walk away.
Perhaps you are standing around with those who are in rebellion against God…don’t just stand there…do something by walking away.
Now, if you are seeking counsel from those who do not rely on God and His truths…turn away…go to God’s word, go to God’s people for sound counsel.


“HOW BLESSED is the man who does not walk…nor stand…nor sit…”
