(NASB) 1 Corinthians 13:13 “But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

The Amplified Bible defines faith, hope and love in the following way:
Faith – the “conviction and belief respecting man’s relation to God and divine things”

Hope – “joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation”

Love – “true affection for God and man, growing out of God’s love for and in us”

Consider faith – being assured of our hope, being sure and certain of what is not seen (yet a reality – a fact).
(NASB) Hebrews 11:1 “NOW FAITH is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

By faith men and women have lived out their lives, believing God and His promises…by faith people have committed their lives and their hopes in God’s words of truth.  God cannot lie, for He is God.
Faith is necessary for our relation to God and His ways.  Our faith in God will be needed as we step into the new year of 2011.  What awaits us?  We do not know, but our faith is to be in God, for He knows!

Faith – the “conviction and belief respecting man’s relation to God and divine things”

Upon what foundation do you live your life?

Faith in God…or something else?
