Endurance is a requirement for a marathon, any long distance race, a climb up the daunting mountains in the Himalayas…of what example do you think?
Whose example are we to follow in this race of endurance called life?

(NASB) Hebrews 12:1-2 “THEREFORE, SINCE we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Followers of Christ are to rely on Him for strength to endure, to persevere despite the hard things of life.

(NASB) 1 Corinthians 13:7 Love…“endures all things.”

Followers of Christ are to exercise faith, just as anyone preparing for a race exercises their muscles, lungs and heart as they train.  Good eating habits and sleep habits are also a must.  Hydration of the body is of great importance.

Love endures and perseveres by exercising faith…putting it consciously into practice, day by day.

(Amplified) 1 Corinthians 13:7 Love…“endures everything [without weakening].”

A new year, 2011, is just around the corner…a new year which will be filled with challenges and opportunities to exercise love and faith, for and in, the Lord Jesus Christ.
