(NASB) Galatians 5:24 “Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

Each Christian (those who belong to Christ) doing what God says to do, has a responsibility.  We have a work to do, we are not to ‘coast’ on our initial salvation (receiving Christ as our Savior is imperative; however, we aren’t to stop there).
Co-operation with God and His purposes and plans is to turn from what we want…to what God wants.  Our old emotions and wills are demanding to control us, but we are to deny ourselves, to turn from such bondage…it is ungodly.

What are some of the freedoms we have as followers of Christ?
~ To live a new life (the old ways of thinking and doing have to go) +
~ Christ’s life (which He has given us through His grace and mercy) is to be acted upon +
~ Each day (whether we ‘feel’ like it or not) we are to depend on God’s Son +
~ Our responsibility is to grow and mature…to become more like our Savior and Lord +
~ Know that no one will attain the perfect life of Christ in this lifetime +
~ To follow Christ is to be child-like, following Him by faith +
~ Letting the old nature (the one with which we were born) become inoperative +

We have choices, even as Christians…we can continue to live as if Christ was not present within or we can take up our responsibilities and live according to what the Holy Bible says.  Life, not death, is God’s desire for all those who would turn to Him.

As a follower of Christ:
Do your thoughts reflect the joy of being a child of God?
Do your actions reveal your love for God?
Has praise and thanksgiving to God become a part of your pattern in thought and words?
Have you yielded to God and His will for you today?

What part of your responsibility before God needs to be put into practice today?
