God calls His children, His people, to live sacrificially and to do this we must be filled with His Spirit.  As a follower of Christ, we are given God the Holy Spirit.  And our lives need to reflect Him!

As this devotional continues with that thinking process, consider the following:
(NASB) Romans 12:12 “…persevering in tribulation…”
(NIV) Romans 12:12 “…patient in affliction…”

Patience is a choice…a hard choice at times.  It means giving up your words and being silent or it may mean being patiently persevering in difficult and even dangerous circumstances.

Patience is not easy.

Perseverance is a choice…often a difficult choice.  It means keeping a steady course in spite of difficulty or discouragement.

Perseverance is not easy.

Persevere patiently in whatever you are ‘in’ today, whether physical, mental, emotional, social or even spiritually.  Being patient as a child of God (the God of the Bible) will be to rely on Him and His power in your difficulties.  If your patience is dependent on yourself or others, forget it.  Only God’s power can help you persevere.

Choosing to be perseveringly patient is for a life-time.
