(Amplified) John 1:1 “IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. [Isaiah 9:6.]”

  What or Who existed before the beginning?  Only God existed.  Only God had being. 

  Everything has been preceded by something or someone else, except for God.  Everything has something which caused it to be, until you get to the Causeless Cause…Who is God.   

  Why is this important in my faith in the God of the Bible?

  If there is a greater God than the God of the Bible, then it is He Whom I should worship. 

  I want a God Who is All-powerful (omnipotent – See Genesis 17:1 “I am God Almighty”),

    ever-lasting (Isaiah 40:28),

    living (see Matthew 16:16, Hebrews 12:22-24),

    all knowing (omniscience),

    omnipresent (God has access to all things – See Colossians 1:15-17),

    personal (See John 3:16-17).

  If there is no other God greater than the God of the Bible…then it is He Whom I choose to worship. (See NASB Exodus 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.”)

Who you worship matters!
