(NASB) Luke 24:45-48 “Then He (the resurrected Jesus) opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
46 and He said to them, “˜Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,
47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48 You are witnesses of these things.”

The disciples understanding dawned as the sun greeting a new day.
They were first-hand witnesses…some of them had witnessed Jesus’ arrest, trials, crucifixion and death. They had known that His dead body had been buried. And now…glorious day! They had understanding…He had risen from the tomb just as it was written!
These followers of Christ Jesus knew Him for themselves”¦and now they were being told to witness to the facts about Jesus and His resurrection!

If you know Jesus as your Savior: you have recognized your need to repent of your sins before this holy God, then you are saved, forgiven, redeemed, bought and given eternal life.
Then you also are a witness to the Good News! Jesus Christ is raised from the dead! He is raised indeed!

You are witnesses…

For men and women who witness of the Lord Jesus and see little or no response…you are witnesses… Jesus did not make the disciples responsible for how others responded to the Good News; He called them (and us) to be witnesses…
