This devotional continues to focus on the road to Emmaus.
  The resurrected Jesus walked with two people on that road…
(NASB) Luke 24:27 “Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.”

  Here is a familiar prophecy from the book of Isaiah…
(NASB) Isaiah 9:6-7 “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace.
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.”

  The reality of God Himself…
Jesus was born in a stable – a child born for you!
God gave His only begotten Son – for you!
Government will be the responsibility of Jesus Christ – for you!
For you! Wonderful Counselor ““ guiding and leading you – as you obey His words.
For you! Mighty God – there is no other god greater or more powerful who has absolute and full authority. (See Isaiah 22:22 & Revelation 3:7)
For you! Eternal Father – Jesus shows you the Father (See John 14:9-10, 10:30)
For you! Prince of Peace – you are to trust Him for your heart, your desires. (See Isaiah 26:3-4)
For you! This prophecy in Isaiah 9:6-7 puts the first coming of Christ Jesus with His second coming…The first coming included His birth, life, death and resurrection. His second coming will bring His Reign of Righteousness.

How are we to know the God of the Bible on a personal and realistic level?
       Listen to His words of hope!
              Put His words into use in our lives!
